Kyoto Animation's signature meticulous animation and sophisticated sound depiction vividly portray the unfamiliar subject of wind instruments, eliciting deep empathy even for those with musical experience. At the same time, the film meticulously captures the psychology and relationships of adolescence, transcending mere musical drama into a highly accomplished coming-of-age story.
