Official Selection of 21 Korean Short Films Announced
The 27th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2025) has officially announced the 21 films selected for the Korean Short Films competition category.
This year’s line-up includes Glasses by director Joung Yumi, which was invited to the Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. Also featured are Empty Can by Choi Jinuk, and The Rhino issue by Kim Junghan unveiled as a world premiere and supported through BIAF’s pre-production fund. Other selected titles include The Handyman and the Pierrot by Yeo Minyoung, and Libera - the time : waiting for you by Kim Eojin. Jeong Jiyun’s A Walk into the Afterlife, which gained international attention through its selection at the Annecy International Film Festival, is also part of this year’s line-up.
Notably, the line-up features, a new work from Studio Pivote that produced NewJeans’ "Right Now" music video, drawing significant attention for its unique style and creativity.
