Brenda Chapman has been appointed as Jury President for BIAF2025
The 27th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2025) has announced that Brenda Chapman will serve as the Jury President for BIAF2025.
Brenda Chapman started her career as a story artist at Walt Disney Feature Animation in 1987, contributing to The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. She also worked as an animator on The Rescuers Down Under and Fantasia 2000, and was the story supervisor on the original The Lion King, for which she became one of the first female story artists in Hollywood to win an Annie Award for Best Individual Achievement for Story Contribution. She then helped launch DreamWorks Animation Studios, where she became the first woman to direct a feature-length animation at a major Hollywood studio with The Prince of Egypt. In 2003, Brenda Chapman joined Pixar Animation Studios where she created, wrote and directed Brave, winning an Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe. In 2020, she made her live-action debut with Come Away, starring Angelina Jolie, which was invited to the Sundance Film Festival.
As an Academy Award-winning director, Brenda Chapman will visit South Korea for the first time as Jury President of BIAF2025.
