The 27th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF 2025) has announced the three jurors for the Feature Film Competition.




Brenda Chapman, who served as a story artist on Disney’s The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, directed DreamWorks’ The Prince of Egypt, and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature as director of Pixar’s Brave, has been selected as the Jury President and Feature Film juror.

Also joining the Feature jury is Akimoto Kenichiro, who was the CGI director of BIAF award-winning feature Children of the Sea, and art director of Poupelle of Chimney Town. Akimoto made his feature directorial debut with All You Need Is Kill, which was invited to the Midnight section of the 2025 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

Kim Yonghwan, director of the highly anticipated Your letter, which is set for released on October 1 and won three awards at BIAF 2024 including the Feature Jury Prize, Technical Award, and Music Award, will also serve as a Feature Film juror.

As an Academy Award® qualifying international animation festival, BIAF 2025 will be held from October 24th to 28th.
