The 27th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2025) has announced the 6 jurors for the Short Competition.
Short Film Jury
Nina GANTZ (Director, Netherlands)
Graduated from the National Film and Television School with Edmond, which won 38 awards including a BAFTA and Sundance. Her Oscar-nominated short Wander to Wonder premiered at Venice and received major awards at SXSW, BIFAs, Annie Awards, BAFTA, and BIAF. She combines techniques such as stop-motion, puppetry, and live action.
Anastasiia FALILEIEVA (Director, Ukraine)
Born in 2000, she studied stop-motion at Kyiv National University of Cinema and Television. Her animated documentary I Died in Irpin became a worldwide festival success. One of the few stop-motion professionals in Ukraine, she explores themes of time and memory.
KIM Hanna (Director, South Korea)
CalArts graduate, former Disney intern and DreamWorks story artist. Her student short Raccoon and the Light won the Student Academy Award Gold Medal, and Peculiar and Strange competed at BIAF2023. She worked on DreamWorks titles including The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

IM Chaerin (Director, South Korea)
Graduated from Seoul National University (Design) and CalArts (Experimental Animation). Her short films Flora, Mate, Eyes and Horns, and I Am a Horse screened at Annecy, Zagreb, and Ottawa. Supported by Filmværksted Viborg and NEF Animation, she is developing her next film Haan with Miyu Productions.
JANG Yena (Voice Actor, South Korea)
Debuted in 2015 with the Daewon Broadcasting Voice Actor’s Association. She voiced Suzume in Suzume (2023), Baby Shark Ollie in the Baby Shark series, and Laraping in Catch! Teenieping. With her wide vocal range, she also works in games, audio dramas, and OSTs.
Geefwee BOEDOE (Director, United States)
CalArts graduate who worked at Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, and Laika as an animator and story artist on classics like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Incredibles, and Finding Nemo. His short Let’s Pollute (2011) was Academy Award-nominated. He teaches at California College of the Arts while pursuing personal projects.
